Rhinoplasty (Without Scar)

Most of our patients, out of habit, ask if there will be scars after Rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty, practiced for years, is now an operation performed without scars thanks to scientific innovations and technological developments.

Technique is important:

A rhinoplasty can be performed in two different ways: open and closed.

In Open Rhinoplasty, by cutting the area between the nostrils, the nasal skin is lifted. As the surgeon can easily see the intranasal structures, this technique is easier than the closed technique. Young surgeons use this technique because they are used to it. However, in open rhinoplasty, there is the possibility of a scar on the tip visible from the outside.

In closed rhinoplasty, the incisions are made from inside the nostrils. In the closed method, there is no possibility of visible scarring. But it is more difficult to apply the closed method. Therefore, it is important for your surgeon to be familiar with closed rhinoplasty.

Today, surgeons applying both techniques exist. When choosing the appropriate technique, the nasal structure of the patient plays a big role in this. If there is no functional problem, closed rhinoplasty is usually preferred. In case of corrections or other rhinoplasty surgery, the closed method may not be suitable. The ideal method for you will be indicated during the exam.
